One community, one event, one thousand degrees Fahrenheit

firewalkA sizzling community charity event will be taking place on Sunday 30 October 2011 at Brodetsky Primary School. A sponsored FIREWALK will see 40 brave volunteers step across 20 feet of wood embers burning at an incredible 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit. The fantastic firewalkers are raising money for EIGHT different community charities: Brodetsky, Donsithorpe, LJHA, LJWB, Maccabi, Scouts & Guides, The Zone and WIZO.

Joanne Harris and Leonie Fingret decided to organise the event after taking part in a sponsored firewalk earlier in the year. This time they wanted to bring the whole community together and give other people the chance to have such a motivational experience. The eight charities will all benefit from the event, where there will be delicious food to enjoy and a spectacular firework display. Tickets will be available nearer the time.

STOP PRESS: There are just a few places remaining! If you’re ready to try something new, are over 18, and are willing to raise money for charity, please email info@community-firewalk.co.uk.
